Downed Power Lines Shut Down Portion Of Great Hill Road: Police

Reported at 8 a.m., once Eversoucre arrives it'll take two hours to clear the downed tree and restore power to the lower portion of the road

GUILFORD, CT —Downed power lines have blocked off a portion of Great Hill Road, police said. There's a tree down on wires on the roadway just west of Cooks Lane, per police, who are asking motorists to use alternate routes, including County Road or Helmock Road to access the lower parts of Great Hill Road.

Eversource reports that once tree crews arrive, this area will remain blocked for about two additional hours while their crews work to clear the tree and fix the lines, police wrote on Facebook.
