GUILFORD, CT - Ethan’s Law” — which would require all firearms, loaded and unloaded, to be safely stored in homes occupied by minors under 18 years of age — has easily passed the Connecticut House and the Connecticut Senate is expected to soon follow suit.

But the Guilford parents of the teen who died tragically from an accidental gun shot aren’t stopping there.

This coming week, Mike and Kristin Song are in Washington, D.C., where national legislation modeled after Connecticut’s law is expected to be introduced by Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro on Tuesday morning.

Connecticut’s current safe storage law only requires that loaded firearms be properly stored “if a minor is likely to gain access to the firearm without the permission of the parent or guardian of the minor.”
