ID Of 21-Year-Old Killed In Guilford Crash Released By Police

Guilford Police Department said they are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

UPDATE: On Saturday, Guilford police said that the 21-year-old local resident who died during a July 17 crash is Anthony Bomgardner, Jr.


Original story: GUILFORD, CT – Guilford Police Chief Christopher Massey said a 21-year-old Guilford man died after crashing into a sedan Monday afternoon.

Massey said around 4:48 p.m. on Monday, July 17, Guilford police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 77 (Durham Road) and Flat Meadow Road.

When officers arrived, they saw a motorcycle and a sedan were involved in the crash, Massey said.

Massey said the motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man from Guilford, suffered serious physical injuries because of the crash and succumbed to those injuries at the hospital. The Guilford Police Department has not released his name.

The Guilford Police Department, in partnership with the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit, will be continuing an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, Massey said.
