Guilford 9-year-old Catches Record-Sized Trout in Fishing Derby

GUILFORD, CT - A 9-year-old Guilford boy is being credited with catching one of the largest trout ever seen at the Boy Scout fishing derby this past weekend at the Deer Lake Scout Reservation in Killingworth.

Jonathan Decensi caught a 17-inch trout. According to his mom, Diane, "It is reportedly the largest trout ever caught at the fishing derby."

And, the proud mom adds: "He caught it on his first cast!"

And, oh yeah, it was also the first time that Jonathan ever has been fishing.

Denise Decensi reports her son was "ecstatic" with his prize-sized catch.
