Guilford Captures Third Straight Girls Lacrosse State Championship
The Grizzlies dispatched top-seeded East Lyme 11-4 in the Class M title contest Sunday at Sacred Heart University.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Guilford broke out to an early five-goal lead in the Class M girls lacrosse championship match Sunday against East Lyme and never looked back, prevailing 11-4 at Sacred Heart University for its third straight state title.
The Grizzlies took a 6-1 lead into halftime, then watched the Vikings tally two quick goals in the first four minutes after intermission before resuming their offensive firepower.
Payton Root and MJ Santa Barbara netted five goals apiece for Guilford, while Cadence Epke added a single tally.

For East Lyme, the No. 1 seed which sought its third state title in program history, Izzy Pazzaglia scored a pair of goals, while Abigail Belleville and Meghan Nagle added one apiece.
