Few historical details are known about St. Patrick's mission to Ireland, although innumerable popular legends are associated with his work and play a major role in Irish culture. The shamrock's association with St. Patrick's Day comes from the popular myth that says St. Patrick used the three leaves of the plant to explain Catholicism's holy trinity to the Irish.

If you're looking to kick off the festivities early, head to the St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance at the VFW held by Mens Group of St. George. All proceeds will go to the Wounded Warriors Project. Here's what their calendar said about their event: 

A fun filled night with great food, door prizes, and music to dance the night away with music by John “Cadillac” Saville. Entertainment from 7:30—11:30 pm. Delicious Corned Beef Buffet served at 7 pm. All this fun for only $50/couple.
