Guilford Could See 30% Power Outage, Town Says

The town of Guilford posted on their website that CL&P estimates at least 30% power outages in the area. They also say town crews are out.

 

At 6:15 PM Friday Night the town of Guilford posted on their website that we can expect to see at least 30% power outages in our area. This is what they said:

CL&P anticipates at least 30% power outages in the area. Town crews are out. Please stay off the roads and adhere to parking bans, we will tow -no exceptions.

When Guilford Patch saw First Selectman Joe Mazza Friday afternoon he said the town was expecting that Friday night would bring the worst of the storm. "The most difficult time is still to come tonight," he said. "We continue to monitor the situation."

As of last night, the Community Center was not open as an Emergency Shelter. Mazza said that if there are significant, sustained power outages in the town, the town will open the Shelter.

At around 7:15 PM Friday night, one of our readers, Walter Corbiere, said his lights flickered on and off, making this comment on one of our articles:

Power just dipped without going all the way off and then came back here in Indian Cove.
