New Summer Program Created By Guilford Parks And Recreation

At the end of the program, participants will come together to celebrate their accomplishments.

GUILFORD, CT – Guilford Parks and Recreation has created a new program for children to learn how to create a mural.

The Youth Mural Workshop for ages 8 to 14 runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. over several dates, July 6, July 7, July 17 through July 21, July 24 and July 25.

During the program, students will learn the basics of creating a portable mural which will be placed at Jacob’s Beach.

Mural workshop participants will collaborate to design and print a 6ft by 12 ft mural on wood panels. During the class, students will learn many drawing techniques, paint with acrylic paint and create small paintings on wood panels to take home.

After the mural is installed at Jacob’s Beach, the crew will come together to celebrate their work.

The Youth Mural Workshop will be held at the Community Center, where Instructor Jason Gilmore, a muralist, will lead out.

The program number is 36120, and the fee is $350.
