Guilford Fire Department Warns Residents Of T-Shirt Scam

Contrary to a text message residents may have received, the Guilford Fire Department is not selling $10 T-shirts, firefighters said.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Fire Department is warning residents of an ongoing scam claiming that fire departments are selling T-shirts.

On Sunday, a fraudulent text message was sent out stating the Guilford Fire Department is selling T-shirts and that the message's recipient can get up to $10 off by clicking a link in the message, firefighters said.

"We are not selling any T-shirts," firefighters wrote on Facebook. "Please do not open any emails from people that you do not know or recognize."
