Guilford To Host Inaugural Country And Bluegrass Festival
The festival was developed in response to community interest expressed in a recent town survey
GUILFORD, CT — Guilford Parks & Recreation, in partnership with GreenStage and the Community Dining Room, will debut the Shoreline's first country and bluegrass festival, "Wings N Strings," on Saturday, July 26.
The event will take place on the Guilford Town Green from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to attend.
The festival was developed in response to community interest expressed in a recent town survey, which identified country and bluegrass music as top requests for summer programming.

"I wanted to create something unique that ties music and food together, much like the Potato & Corn Festival I started in North Branford," said Pamela Gery, director of Guilford Parks & Recreation, in an announcement.
The event will feature live performances from bluegrass acts Goodnight Blue Moon and the Kat Wallace Band, with country group Austin City Lights headlining the evening.

Wristbands priced at $10 will grant access to a range of attractions, including mechanical bull rides, ax throwing, a petting zoo, glitter tattoos, a mini train ride, an open-air photo booth, and various lawn games.
More than 25 vendors and food trucks will be on-site, including Vittles Food Truck, Burning Peel, Flirti Mobile Bar, Get Stuffed, Los Mariachis, The Cheese Truck, and the Guilford Parks & Recreation Potato Patch.
Organizers say attendees should expect a lively atmosphere, with music, food, family activities—and possibly some spontaneous line dancing.
Wings N Strings marks the latest addition to Guilford’s seasonal events lineup, designed to offer residents and visitors a mix of entertainment and community engagement.
