Guilford Hosts Route 146 Corridor Public Information Meeting

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford residents will have the opportunity to learn about and provide input on potential strategies to be included in the Route 146 Corridor Management Plan.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting on the Route 146 Corridor Management Plan for Guilford and Branford residents on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nathanael B. Greene Community Center in the Menunkatuck Room, 32 Church St. in Guilford.

The plan strategies address issues including roadside safety, flooding, bicycle and pedestrian mobility and speed management while preserving the corridor's unique historical and environmental qualities.

During the meeting on Nov. 14, residents can discuss views and comments concerning the plan developed and proposed strategies. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.

The project aims to develop a Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for CT Route 146 in Branford and Guilford to review the Route 1467 corridor and how to protect its many historical, cultural and environmental resources.

The CMP will balance caring for significant resources with providing a safe roadway for all travelers and respecting the desires of the community, residents and local businesses. It will also look at ways to make the corridor more resilient and prepared for climate risks like flooding.

Residents can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meeting.
