Guilford Man Faces Numerous Charges In Domestic Violence Incident: Police
Police said dispatch received an open 911 call in which it sounded as though someone was in distress on the night of Nov. 5.

GUILFORD, CT — A Guilford man was arrested last week after police say he was involved in a domestic violence incident.
On Nov. 5 at approximately 8:35 p.m., police received an open 911 call in which it sounded as though someone was in distress, police said in a news release, noting the dispatcher was able to work with responding patrol officers to determine the location of the call.
"When officers arrived at the scene, there was an active domestic violence incident still taking place that included an attempted sexual assault in progress," police said.

Officers quickly intervened and took custody of a 42-year-old man.
The arrestee was charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree sexual assault; first-degree strangulation; first-degree unlawful restraint; interfering with an emergency call; and disorderly conduct.

The charges came with a court-set bond of $250,000, and the arrestee was arraigned at Superior Court in New Haven on Nov. 12. The CT Judicial Branch website shows the arrestee remains in custody and is scheduled back in court on Nov. 26.
