Guilford Man Killed In New York Highway Crash
A Guilford tractor-trailer driver died after his vehicle flipped over on I-287 in New York.
GUILFORD, CT — A Guilford man died after a crash on Interstate 287 in Harrison, New York Wednesday morning, officials said.
Nathan L. Montalvo, 42, was driving a tractor-trailer near the exit 9A ramp when he lost control of the vehicle, and it flipped over the guardrail and onto I-287 westbound lanes, according to a preliminary New York State Police investigation.
The crash closed I-287 westbound near Port Chester for hours in the morning and afternoon as police investigated the crash.

A New York man was injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital.
Police continue to investigate the crash. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the family.

"His sudden tragic passing has left many with heavy hearts. No one was prepared to say goodbye, but here we are," the GoFundMe page states. "Nate’s laugh was contagious, his jokes were hilarious, and he loved entertaining those around him with his storytelling. Nate was generous, loving, and full of life, and carried that energy everywhere he went....Nate’s legacy will be carried on by his three loving sons."
The funds will assist with funeral arrangement costs and if there are any remaining funds, those will be disbursed to his three children, the GoFundMe page states.
