GUILFORD – Martine Jehan was 26 when she lost her battle to addiction in 2013. Even though it has been more than three years since the 2005 Guilford High School graduate has passed, her mother continues to work hard to make sure she’s not forgotten.
This year an event that is named “Martine’s Wake…UP will be held at 6 p.m. on June 23rd at Martin’s Bishop Field. It is third year the event has been held that focuses on addiction awareness. (To sign up for Guilford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

“In honor of my daughter Martine I continue to try and make a difference in our recovery system, and to those struggling with addiction,” Betsy Jehan, Martine’s mother said.
Martine’s mother said it will be a drug-free, alcohol free evening, designed to raise awareness of the addiction epidemic and money for scholarships to attend the women’s sober hour called The Mansion, formerly known as Spiritual Gardens in New Haven.
