Guilford Mom 'Is Passionate About Promoting Equity In The Community'

GUILFORD, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Kelly Quinn who nominated Brittany Stalsburg of Guilford.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Brittany is such an amazing mom. She has worked so hard to make sure she is giving her kids a safe, loving, nurturing environment to grow up and thrive in. In addition to being a great mom to her kids, she also cares about her community and the families in it. She's this year's director of the Little Folks Fair (June 3 on Guilford Green) which raises money for the Community Nursery School. The money goes to the financial support fund to ensure all families can access a play-based education. Britt is passionate about promoting equity in the community, and not only do other families get to benefit from her great work, but her kids get to see her dedication to these causes.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She is so involved in the community where she lives and she takes the time to help other moms feel welcomed.
