Guilford Police Offer Fall Driving Tips

GUILFORD, CT — With fall arriving, the Guilford Police Department has offered several tips to keep drivers safe.

According to police, drivers are being encouraged to:

• Look out for leaves - wet leaves can be just as slippery as ice
• Prepare for early darkness - make sure headlights are working properly
• Watch for deer and other animals - fall is a breeding season for deer, and animals are more active in the fall as they gather food to prepare for winter
• Keep your sunglasses handy - the sun is lower in the sky, causing increased glare
