GUILFORD, CT - The Guilford Police Department, in their efforts to promote safe driving will be participating in the statewide “Click it or Ticket" campaign wave #56.

Although occupant protection laws are enforced all year long by the Guilford Police Department, between the dates of May 20th to June 2nd, focused enforcement of these violations will be a priority of Patrol Officers. Officers may use a variety of enforcement techniques from organized check points to roaming patrol, as well as the deployment of Guilford's low profile traffic unit.

It is the hope of the Guilford Police Department that this enhanced enforcement will stand as an opportunity to educate the public and remind our citizens of the dangers of operating or being a passenger in a motor vehicle without wearing a seatbelt. The Guilford Police Department would further like to remind the public that several Officers are Certified Child Safety Seat Technicians. Officers are available for installations on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:30 PM to 6:30PM.
