Guilford P&Z Forms Rt. 1 Study Committee

Guilford's Planning and Zoning Commission has formed a committee to review zoning on Route 1, West of Exit 57 to the town line of Branford.

The following press release was provided by Tony Fappiano: 

The Guilford, CT  Planning and Zoning Commission has formed a committee to review zoning on Route 1 west of Exit 57 to the Branford town line. The purpose for this project is to comprehensively review current zoning along this Rt 1 corridor with  attention being paid to expanding commercial zoning opportunities consistent with the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. Careful consideration of natural and environmental conditions is an important part of this review. 

The Route 1 West Study Committee is made of  Chairman Tony Fappiano and Victor Anatra (property owners), Chris Widmer (architect), Matthew Joseff ( Economic Development Commission member), Sarah Williams (Guilford Land Conservation Trust) and Walter Corbiere (P&Z Commissioner). 

In addition, Guilford staff persons George Kral, Kevin Magee and Brian McGlone have been named to the committee.

The committee meets each Tuesday, 6-7:30 PM in 2nd floor meeting room of the Guilford Town Hall. Members of the Guilford community with questions or comments are encouraged to attend or contact committee members. Meeting agenda and minutes are available on the town website.

Upon completion of the review, the committee will present its findings and recommendations to the Planning and Zoning Commission for further action.
