Guilford Receives "Highest Form Of Recognition In Financial Reporting"

GUILFORD, CT — The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GOFA) has recognized the town of Guilford for its excellence in financial reporting.

In a news release, GOFA stated the Town of Guilford has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.

GOFA said the financial reporting by Guilford demonstrated a “spirit of full disclosure” to communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

GOFA said the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
