Guilford Social Services Delivered Over 200 Holiday Meals This Season, Town Says

The Holiday Meal Program is organized by Guilford Social Services and the Guilford Food Bank.

GUILFORD, CT — Thanks to community donations, Guilford Social Services was able to distribute 204 holiday meals and help 357 residents this season, according to an announcement from the town.

The Holiday Meal Program is organized by Guilford Social Services and the Guilford Food Bank, and allows the Guilford community to help those in need during the holiday season.

Thanksgiving meals in November included a turkey, pie and a gift card. Home-delivered Thanksgiving meals for seniors included a turkey breast, produce, pantry items, desserts and a grocery store gift card, the town said.

Christmas meals included a turkey, a cookie tin and a gift card. Home-delivered meals included chicken, breakfast items, pantry items, fresh fruit, holiday treats, a cookie tin and a gift card.

"We would like to thank everyone for their kindness during the holiday season," Guilford Social Services Director Donna Grieder said in an announcement. "The generosity of this community humbles us."

Residents can support the Guilford Food Bank throughout the year by mailing or dropping off grocery store gift cards or monetary donations to:
