Eight Guilford Firefighters to Get a New Look for a Good Cause!
Eight members of the Guilford Fire Department will get a new look on March 1 when they shave their heads for St. Baldrick's, a foundation that supports research for childhood cancer. Help them reach their $2000 donation goal!
Eight members of Guilford Professional Firefighters Local 4177 are going beyond the regular calls for help on March 1 as they will have their heads shaved to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

The group will have their locks buzzed because, according to St. Baldrick's website, "kids with cancer often lose their hair during treatment, and we stand proudly bald beside them. But the true goal–to cure childhood cancer–will be accomplished because, while shaving, we raise funds for lifesaving childhood cancer research."
Guilford Firefighter/Paramedic John Planas told Guilford Patch that GFD has participated in this event for the last few years.

So far this year, Guilford has raised almost $1000 according to their team page. Their goal is set at $2000. To help the Guilford firefighters reach their goal and make a donation, visit their team page. You can donate to the team as a whole or to an individual.
Many local fire departments are participating in the March 1 event, tentatively scheduled to be held at O'Toole's Irish Bar in New Haven at 6 PM.
