Good afternoon. This is First Selectman Matt Hoey with an update on the test kit registration.
I am pleased to report that we had an overwhelming response to the opportunity to register for our test kit distribution events on Monday and Tuesday.

Unfortunately, that means that the number of requests far exceeds the available kits and time slots. While many of you have received a confirmation email, we are still in the process of validating requests. Even though you may have successfully completed the registration, there is a chance that you will not actually be scheduled for a pickup.

Our process includes reviewing the submissions for duplicate addresses and will reject any that appear to be inconsistent with our goal of distributing two test kits per household.

We anticipate that the balance of the confirmation emails will go out within the next 3 hours.
For any registrants who do not receive a time slot and confirmation, your registration will be saved and, in the order that they were received, will be assigned time slots and kits for future distribution events when we receive additional shipments from the State.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this challenging opportunity. Have a pleasant evening."

Original story

Before heading out to the fairgrounds Monday and Tuesday to get COVID-19 test kits, residents must register online first.

The at-home, rapid kits are being distributed Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m.

From the town:

"You MUST register via the form to receive the two test kits for your household. You cannot go to the fairgrounds without a valid registration. If you do go without it, you will be turned away.

On the registration you will select a date and a time slot for your pickup. We will need you to arrive during your assigned date and time slot to insure an orderly distribution process. Rest assured, if you register and receive a confirmation, there will be two test kits waiting for you.

Please complete and submit the registration form. Once the form is accepted, you will receive a confirmation email with more details about the pickup procedure. Receipt of that confirmation email may take up to an hour.

Please be sure you enter your information correctly. Your name must match your photo ID at the pick-up site in order to receive your tests.”
