Police said the shooting occurred late Tuesday near a school, and some traffic was redirected Wednesday morning.

GUILFORD, CT — An investigation is being launched in Guilford after a report of a residence being shot at overnight, the Guilford Police Department said.
On Oct. 25, around 6:30 a.m., the Guilford Police Department responded to a residence on New England Road close to Guilford High School for the report of a residence being shot at overnight, police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24., police said.

At this time, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no active threat to the public at this time, police said.
The Guilford Police Department worked to redirect traffic with the school in the morning while the scene was still being processed for evidence, police said.
