I-95 South Closed In Guilford Due To Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer

A stretch of the highway between two exits in Guilford is expected to be closed for "3 hours or less" as officials respond to the crash.

GUILFORD, CT — I-95 South has closed between two exits in Guilford as officials respond to a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

The highway is currently closed between exits 58 and 57, according to CT Travel Smart. The crash was reported at 9:07 a.m. Friday, and CT Travel Smart estimates the highway will be closed for 3 hours or less.

It's currently unknown whether anyone was injured in the crash.

A cause has not been released, though over 8 inches of snow has fallen on the Guilford area Friday morning. The Connecticut Department of Transportation called today "a good day to stay home."

"If you're on the roads, please exercise extreme caution," the department tweeted.

A second jackknifed tractor-trailer closed another stretch of Connecticut highways Friday morning, as well.

I-95 North closed between exits 90 and 91 in Stonington for an incident reported at 9:14 a.m. Friday. That closure is expected to last for 3 hours or less, as well.
