Interim Principal Appointed At Guilford's Adams Middle School
The interim principal will serve during the search for a permanent replacement, Guilford Public Schools said.
GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Board of Education has appointed Dr. Wesley Simon as interim principal of Adams Middle School. The unanimous vote came at the board’s Aug. 11 meeting.
Simon most recently served as dean of academics and International Baccalaureate coordinator at the Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, Mass. Her previous leadership roles include assistant director of the senior school at Saltus Grammar School in Hamilton, Bermuda, and dean of community life at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut.
She holds degrees from the University of Connecticut and Southern Connecticut State University, a sixth-year diploma in educational leadership from Quinnipiac University, a professional certificate from Cornell University and a doctorate in organizational change and leadership from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education.

"I am extremely excited about Dr. Simon’s acceptance of this interim role," Superintendent of Schools Paul Freeman said in an announcement. "With her extremely diverse educational background and strong leadership skills, Adams Middle School will be in good hands, while we conduct a thorough search for a permanent principal."
Simon said she is eager to return to a school her family knows well.

"I'm honored to step into the role of interim principal at Adams Middle School — a place that holds special meaning for me," she said. "My daughter graduated from Adams in 2013, so I've experienced firsthand the supportive, dynamic environment this school offers. It's a privilege to have the opportunity to serve this incredible community, and I look forward to working with students, staff, and families to ensure a successful and enriching school year for everyone."
The position opened following the departure of former principal Dr. Garin Mullin.
Simon will serve during the search for a permanent replacement.
