Key Upcoming Dates In The Guilford Public Schools Budget Process

GUILFORD, CT — With the calendar flipped to the new year, it's almost time for the budget process in Guilford to swing into action.

Here the upcoming key dates for Guilford Public Schools:

• Jan. 13: Superintendent of GPS Dr. Paul Freeman will present the preliminary budget during the Board of Education meeting.
• Jan. 21: A joint meeting will be held with the Board of Education/Board of Finance Budget Committees.
• Jan. 27-28: The Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the 2025-2026 proposed budget.
• Feb. 3: The Board of Education will hold a special meeting to approve the 2025-2026 budget and proposed bonding.
• Feb. 13: The budget will be presented to the Board of Finance
• March 4: The Board of Finance will hold a public hearing on the budget.
• April, date TBD: The annual budget meeting will be held.
• April, date TBD: A referendum on the budget will take place.
