'Load And Go' Event Planned For Thursday In Guilford: Here's What To Know

Mulch, compost and wood chip supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Public Works Department will hold a "Load and Go" Day on Thursday, July 17, offering residents and local businesses access to mulch, compost and wood chips at the town’s Brush and Leaf Facility on Sullivan Drive.

The event will run from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with Public Works staff on hand to load materials for participants. A brief on-site form must be completed before loading begins, and proof of residency is required. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pricing for the materials is tiered by vehicle size:

  • $5 for a pickup truck or small trailer
  • $10 for a mason dump truck or large dump trailer
  • $30 for a six-wheel dump truck
  • $50 for a tri-axle dump truck

The event allows residents and businesses to gather materials for landscaping or gardening projects.
