Man, 79, Charged with Stealing From Guilford Farmstand: Police
A man is accused of driving up and stealing goods from a roadside farmer's market in Guilford.

GUILFORD, CT — A 79-year-old Wethersfield man has been arrested and charged with stealing from a Guilford farmstand on Durham Road earlier this summer, police said Friday.
Guilford police have charged Francis S. Guerra. He was arrested via a warrant and is charged with sixth-degree larceny.

When Guilford Police first announced the larceny investigation in June, police said,"One of the awesome things about living in Guilford is all the agriculture farms and farm stands.

"The majority of the farm stands are what you would call "honor system" when it comes to payment.... the farmers and staff are at their farms working and leave the products for purchase at the stand... people then leave the money in the secured box when they leave.
"Far too often, we receive reports of people taking items from these farm stands and failing to pay for those items. Make no mistake, this is stealing.
"Due to the fact this has become a significant problem for Guilford's farming community, many have invested in cameras and now have evidence to provide when filing these reports.
