'Modern Roundabout' Construction Closes Rt. 22 Until Friday

GUILFORD, CT —Now through Friday, motorists can expect the closure and detour of Route 22 to facilitate ongoing work activities for the construction of a "modern roundabout" at Route 1 and Route 22 in Guilford, Branford, and North Branford, per the state Department of Transportation.

The closure and detour began Sunday and will continue until Friday morning, the state DOT said.

Route 22 northbound traffic will be detoured via Route 1 to Route 139 to Route 80. Route 22 southbound traffic will be detoured via Route 80 to Route 139 to Route 1.
