New Assistant Principal Appointed At Guilford's Baldwin Middle School
The appointment is effective Sept. 22, according to Guilford Public Schools.
GUILFORD, CT — Guilford Public Schools recently announced the appointment of Paul Coppola as Baldwin Middle School's new assistant principal, effective Sept. 22.
Coppola previously served as assistant principal at Madison Middle School in Trumbull for nine years, where he supported student life and teacher development. He helped establish a Sandy Hook SAVE Promise Club, a program promoting kindness, inclusion, and community engagement.
"I am so grateful to be joining a team of educators at Baldwin that prioritize a climate where every student feels safe, valued, and connected with a trusted adult," Coppola said in an announcement.

Coppola holds a bachelor’s degree in history and education from Boston College, a master’s in education from Fairfield University, and a Sixth-Year Certificate from Quinnipiac University. Coppola began his career as an intervention paraeducator at John Winthrop Junior High School in Deep River, and later taught social studies for nine years at Daniel Hand High School. He also contributed to the development of Madison’s K–12 social studies curriculum.

"Paul brings a wealth of experience as both an educator and a leader, which will meaningfully support the needs of our students, staff, and families. We look forward to beginning our collaboration with him in the weeks ahead.”

Coppola succeeds Phillip Ross, a longtime educator and assistant principal who is retiring.
Ross will continue in his role until Coppola begins to ensure a smooth transition. Coppola lives in Guilford with his wife, Ashley, and their two children.
