Obituary: Karen (DiNicola) Abbatello, 59, of Guilford, North Branford

Wednesday, May 1, 2024 Karen (DiNicola) Abbatello, 59, longtime resident of Guilford and North Branford passed away peacefully at Guilford House Nursing Center after a difficult battle with early-onset Dementia.

Karen was born in New Haven on December 1, 1964, daughter of Marie (Simone) DiNicola and the late Vincenzo “Vinny” DiNicola. Loving mother of Michael Abbatello of North Branford and Marc Abbatello of Wallingford. Sister of Vincent DiNicola Jr., Gary DiNicola Sr., and James DiNicola Sr. She is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews, a continually growing generation of great nieces and nephews, and her former husband Jeffrey Abbatello.

Karen is a 1983 graduate of Guilford High School and worked most of her early years at Diagnostic Medical Lab before moving on to the family business, Abbatello Electric.

She enjoyed her dogs, the beach, and her arts & crafts including making jewelry and specialty birthday cakes. But most of all, she loved her sons and her family.

Family and Friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, May 6 from 4 – 7 pm at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.

Funeral Services will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 7 at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd, Guilford.
