Obituary: Maureen E. A. Yates, 88, of Guilford
Born in the U.K., she was a paralegal for many years for the Yaffie Law Firm in Trumbull, and was an avid gardener and floral designer.
Maureen E. A. Yates of Guilford, beloved wife of Peter D. Yates died Monday May 13, 2024 at Apple Rehab in Guilford.
Mrs. Yates was born in Richmond, Surrey, United Kingdom, on January 27, 1936, daughter of the late Benjamin and Honoria (Norah) O’Donnell Holden. She worked as a paralegal for many years for the Yaffie Law Firm in Trumbull prior to retiring. Mrs. Yates was an avid gardener and floral designer, having her own business when she lived in Barrington, IL. In 2012, Mrs. Yates ran for the US House to represent Illinois’ 6th District.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Stephanie (Rudy) Gosteli of Guilford, Lyndsay (Gary) Sebestyen of Brighton, MI, and Nicholaus (Susan) Yates of Chicago, IL and seven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday May 18th from 2:00-3:00 PM, with a prayer service at 3:00, at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
