Paul Dostie Kare Fest Fundraiser To Feature 5 Local Bands

GUILFORD, CT — The 2nd Annual Paul Dostie KARE Fest Fundraiser is set for June.

Paul Dostie KARE Foundation’s mission is to provide funds to help support travel and medical expenses for individuals with life-threatening illnesses.

The foundation said on its website that KARE or Kindness Always Rewards Everyone, is a great way to honor Paul, who always treated everyone with kindness and was rewarded. Paul Dostie was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a non-curable brain cancer, in 2019 and after a lengthy battle he died on May 25, 2021, according to the organization's website.

The foundation raises funds through the Annual Paul Dostie KARE Fest to continue to bless others. The 2nd annual KARE fest is set for Saturday, June 10, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., with music starting at 4 p.m. at the Guilford Fair Grounds, 111 Lovers Ln.

The KARE fest fundraiser will feature five local bands: Java Groove, The Ticket, The Crushtones, The Heavy Hitters and Shot Down.

KARE Foundation is again partnering up with Thimble Island Brewing Co. for beers. Wine and other refreshments will be available. In addition, several food trucks will be attended, and a silent auction and 50/50 raffle will be held.

Those who purchase tickets during the early sale from April 17 through June 9 will receive a drink ticket. Those who buy tickets on the day of the event will not receive a drink ticket. Both tickets are priced at $25.

Children under 12 years old are free but must be accompanied by an adult.
