New Details Released Of Man Falling off Hot Air Balloon: Guilford PD

GUILFORD, CT – Guilford Police Said a 69-year-old man fell from a hot air balloon at the Guilford Fairgrounds Sunday evening.

Officers responded to the scene at the Guilford Fairgrounds around 9:42 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, police said.

Police said a 69-year-old man was assisting passengers on and off a hot air balloon when the hot air balloon began to rise while the man was hanging on to the exterior of the balloon’s basket.

Police said it was reported when the man fell; he was about 10 to 15 feet off the ground.

The man was a volunteer for The Balloon Glow and Laser Show event at the Guilford Fairgrounds this weekend, police said.

Police said the Guilford Fire Department transported the man to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries, and at last check, he is reported to be in stable condition.
