Police Clock Alleged Drunk Driver Doing 99 MPH on I-95 in Guilford
This 29-year old Westbrook driver was allegedly clocked going 99 MPH as he drove on I-95 through Guilford on August 22. He was charged with reckless driving and operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
According to a Troop F police report, 29-year-old Jason S. Sulima, of 73 Green Meadow Drive, Westbrook, was clocked driving 99 MPH on I-95 in Guilford around 7 PM on August 22. The report states that he was charged with reckless driving and operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
The report states that while TFC Jeffrey Couto was conducted speed enforcement on I-95 East Bound at exit 59 in Guilford, he clocked the speed of Sulima's vehicle at 99 MPH in a "clearly posted 65 MPH zone."
Couto stopped the vehicle, and Sulima was subsequently found to be "operating while intoxicated," the report states. Sulima was taken into custody, processed and later released pending an appearance in New Haven Superior Court.
His court date is currently set for September 4.
