Jocelyn R. Niziolek, 79, died Dec. 2, 2025; a longtime New Haven public-school teacher who later volunteered as a student mentor in Guilford, she was also an accomplished Batik artist and enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, reading, traveling, cooking, and time with her grandchildren.

Dr. Jan W.F. Wasley, 89, died Dec. 2, 2025; a medicinal chemist who held more than 40 patents and led research at Ciba-Geigy and later Neurogen Corp., he also enjoyed traveling, playing piano, creating chemistry-themed musical skits, tennis, running, and long walks by the shore.

Narciso Diaz Ortiz, 98, died Nov. 23, 2025; he spent 35 years working as a laborer and rose grower at William Pinchbeck Rose Farm and was devoted to music, hymns, Bible study, and long involvement in his church community.

William (Bill) Leo Dwyer, 74, died Nov. 22, 2025; a 32-year Teamster who also worked in public works, owned concession and olive-oil businesses, managed a touring band, co-owned a music venue, and enjoyed cooking, reading, Hawaiian shirts, NASCAR, and the Allman Brothers.
