Orlando P. Capezzone, 98, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, former railroad worker, mason for 20 years, and longtime Guilford Public Schools employee, passed away on Feb. 15, 2025; he was a 1943 Guilford High School graduate who enjoyed art, gardening, painting, aviation, building balsa airplanes, reading history, baking pies, and spending time with family.
Andrew “Andy” Staba, 83, a U.S. Army veteran, former Peace Corps volunteer in India, and civic leader, passed away on Feb. 15, 2025; he owned and operated the Little Stone House restaurant, enjoyed coffee chats, tinkering with Mercedes cars, exploring museums, and engaging with his community.

Dolores “Candy” Hirsch I. O’Rourke, 98, a U.S. Navy veteran who served as a Command Administrator Yeoman during the Korean War and a retired administrative assistant at Heublein Inc., passed away on Feb. 13, 2025; she enjoyed traveling the world, exploring national parks, hosting dinner parties, and following UConn women’s basketball.
Joseph Edward Ferrall, 35, a former Guilford High School graduate, NYU Presidential Scholar and Eagle Scout, passed away on Feb. 13, 2025; despite longstanding health challenges, he was a fluent Chinese speaker, history enthusiast, and dedicated community volunteer.

Gloria Messina Nicosia, born Aug. 18, 1931, passed away on Feb. 5, 2025 at home at age 93; originally from Brooklyn, she worked in Manhattan’s insurance industry before marrying John P. “Paul” Nicosia in 1953, later settling in Guilford in 1971, where they raised three children, enjoyed traveling, theater, and hosting gatherings.
