Report: Blaze at Guilford Transfer Station Causes Building Damage [Update]

The New Haven Register is reporting that a fire at the Guilford Transfer Station Saturday evening caused 'quite a bit of damage' to the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The New Haven Register is reporting that seven Guilford Fire Department engines responded to a fire at the Guilford transfer station Saturday evening, around 6:30 PM.

According to reports, upon the department's arrival, "the fire was burning at the top of the building that houses the dump’s hopper..." A fire official on the scene told the Register the building took "quite a bit of damage."

The Register reports that the fire was put out within 15 minutes of the department's arrival. No injuries were reported and the cause is under ongoing investigation.
