GUILFORD, CT — A section of Long Hill Road has reopened following a motor vehicle crash with reported serious injuries, according to Guilford Police.

The road was closed between Red Coat Lane and Woods End Road for several hours as police investigated Friday.

The South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit was activated and responded to assist with the crash investigation, police said.

Long Hill Road between Red Coat Lane and Woods End Road in Guilford is currently closed due to a motor vehicle crash, according to the Guilford Police Department.

Officers responded to Long Hill Road at the intersection with Laurelbrook Drive just before 3 p.m. on a report of a crash with serious injuries.

Residents are being asked to use alternate routes while the investigation is ongoing.

Police said residences on Long Hill Road south of Laurelbrook Drive can still be accessed from the Red Coat Side of the closure. Residences on Long Hill Road north of Laurelbrook Drive can be accessed from the Woods End Road side of the closure.

The South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit has been activated and will be responding to assist with the crash investigation, police said.

Details on how many vehicles were involved in the crash were not immediately available Friday afternoon.
