Road Reopened After Tree Fell On Wires: Guilford Police

Motorists should seek alternate routes.

GUILFORD, CT — The area of 4600 Durham Road reopened early Wednesday after a tree fell on wires, according to an update from Guilford police.

Residents are advised to drive with caution Wednesday as there may be isolated pockets of black ice throughout the state.

Police say an additional tree is down at the Guilford/Durham town line on Durham Road. The Department of Transportation will cut the tree up shortly to open the road, police said in an update posted shortly before 4:30 p.m.

The area of 4600 Durham Road will remain closed for approximately three more hours while Eversource conducts repairs, police said.

The area of 4600 Durham Road (Route 77) is closed due to a tree down on wires, blocking the roadway, according to the Guilford Police Department.

Eversource and the Department of Transportation have been notified. Motorists should use Route 79 in Madison as an alternate route, police noted.

An additional tree is down at the Guilford/Durahm town line on Durham Rd. DOT will be cutting that tree up shortly and opening the road there.

4600 Durham Road will remain closed approximately 3 more hours while Eversource repairs the damage.
