Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She has stepped up and recognized that her business is essential and that she can help others. She has provided meals, canned goods, and services to shelters and food pantries along the shoreline. She has carried groceries for the town that are otherwise hard to find and has constantly made them available. She has brought in goods from neighboring stores that are struggling and carried them on her shelves, trying to help their sales. She didn’t take a cent for herself! Just trying to help her neighbors. Truly incredible.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Her true care for others.

Owner of local business

Cindy has been able to support not only her business but has offered grocery items and paper products not normally found in a coffee shop. She has supported her small business neighbors who were forced to close by selling Easter baskets and chocolate, stuffed animals and currently pjs and slippers for another neighbor. She also has also supplied Columbus House, a homeless shelter in New Haven, with over 150 meals and has sent food to the family of a recovering Covid victim. Thus is just what is publicized. Guessing there’s more.

Cindy is always looking for a way to help others and manages to find it. She has a heart of gold.
