Store Employee Threatened With Knife During Shoplifting, Guilford Police Say

An investigation is ongoing, according to the Guilford Police Department.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford police are looking for a shoplifting suspect they say threatened a T.J. Maxx employee with a knife on Wednesday night.

Lt. Joseph Duro told Patch a call came in to report the incident at 9:12 p.m. on Nov. 19.

The suspect was in the process of stealing merchandise from the T.J. Maxx store on Boston Post Road when they were confronted by an employee, Duro said, noting the suspect then "displayed and threatened the use of a knife."

Area departments were notified, and the suspect vehicle was seen on License Plate Reader cameras in the New Haven area shortly after the incident, but the suspect wasn't apprehended, Duro said.

Guilford police said they are working with area police departments to identify the suspect and the vehicle.
