Storm-Ravaged Roads Halt Meals On Wheels Volunteer Drivers

With more than 150 street and road hazards reported to police after Isaias ripped through Guilford, drivers cannot safely deliver meals.

GUILFORD, CT — With more than 100 streets and roadways blocked or closed, littered with fallen trees, limbs and power lines, Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers cannot navigate the treacherous conditions so for Wednesday, there will be no meal delivery, Christi Burton, director of Meals on Wheels for the Guilford Interfaith Volunteers, said.

"We are hoping to resume deliveries Thursday," Burton said, adding "we apologize for the inconvenience."
