TGF and GSB give $10,500 to Local Nonprofits for Sponsorship Events
After the first application review, eight fundraising and brand-building activities were funded through a partnership between and GSB.

Through generous funding from GSB, The Guilford Foundation (TGF) distributed $10,500 to community partners for eight local events in the first round of the 2025 Sponsorship Award Program. The funding is intended to support Guilford-serving nonprofits with functions focused on fundraising and increasing brand visibility.
Liza Janssen Petra, Executive Director of TGF, deeply appreciates GSB's unwavering commitment to the community and their partnership with the Foundation. "We are immensely grateful for GSB's generosity," she emphasized. "Their $30,000 donation to fund our sponsorship program allows us to provide additional resources to support and empower local nonprofits."
Awards from the first application review ranged from $500 to $2,500. Recipients of the sponsorship funding include Guilford Interfaith Volunteers, Guilford Youth Mentoring, Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club of Guilford, SARAH Foundation, Theater Arts Parents Support (TAPS), and Women & Family Life Center.

GSB started collaborating with four community foundations, including TGF, after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bank repurposed $100,000 of direct event sponsorship funds to foundations, believing they are well-positioned to prioritize and respond to local needs. This partnership solidifies GSB's commitment to making a lasting impact on the communities they serve.
