The big news this week is the annual community picnic, concert, and fireworks celebration scheduled for the end of the week.
The community picnic will be Saturday at 4 p.m. on the Guilford Green. The Community Band will perform and there will be inflatables for the kids. The rain date is July 14.
Fireworks will be later that night at the Fairgrounds on Lovers Lane. The music will start at 7:30 p.m., and the fireworks are due to go off at 9:30 p.m. The rain date is also July 14.
If you haven't already made your donation for the fireworks, it's not to late. Check out the Guilford Fireworks Facebook page to find out how.
Also this weekend, in nearby Madison, you can enjoy Dinners at the Farm. Beginning Thursday, the 7th Season of Dinners At The Farm continues at Barberry Hill Farm. If you've not been, you're going to want to check this out. Relying upon locally sourced food, Jonathan Rapp of River Tavern creates a masterpiece of a meal to the delight of all in attendance and for the benefit of a whole host of great causes. Read more at the Dinners at the Farm website and be sure to get your ticket early, because one night is already sold out! The dinners run through Sunday.
