Town Of Guilford Creating New Notification System
The system would send out alerts for both emergencies and non-emergencies.

The Town of Guilford is constructing a new notification system that will allow town leaders to send out information via text message, email or to landlines.
The New Haven Register reports that the system will alert residents of emergency water stations, community center hours and areas of towns remaining open during storms, among other items. The start-up cost for the system was $7,938 and it costs $5,292 a year to operate, according to the newspaper.
“With Reverse 911, we can only use it for real emergencies, but this new system will allow for officials to report emergency and non-emergency events,” Guilford First Selectman Joseph Mazza told the New Haven Register.
