The dedication ceremony will feature a flyover by the New Milford Police 'Eagle' Search and Rescue helicopter.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford’s Tribute to Freedom Monument, presented by American Legion Post 48, will be formally decided at a Sunday, Sept. 10 ceremony.
The dedication ceremony will take place at the Guilford Town Marina, Lower Whitfield St., at 11 a.m. After the ceremony, a BBQ with live music will be held at the VFW hall, 104 Mill Rd.
Initially, the intent was to plan a ceremony to commemorate the many Americans who bravely responded to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. But the idea quickly evolved into creating a permanent monument in Guilford.
