Tropical Storm Isaias In Guilford: Live Updates

GUILFORD, CT — Topical Storm Isaias is lashing the Connecticut shoreline Tuesday. Here is where Patch will post live updates on conditions from power outages, road closures, downed trees and limbs, flooding and other related storm incidents.

2 p.m. A tornado watch has been issued for the region.

Guilford is under a Tornado Watch until 4pm and a Tropical Storm Warning until 10pm.

Expect strong consistent winds with gusts potentially near 70mph. Heavy rains will lead to local flooding and impassable streets. Downed power lines and trees will be a problematic throughout the storm.


3 p.m. - Eversource is reporting 859 Guilford customers are without power.

The utility is reporting that the outage represents nearly 8 percent of the 11,000-plus customers.

5 p.m. An update from state Emergency Management officials.

5:30 p.m. Eversource is now reporting 4,596 Guilford customers are without power.

The utility is reporting that the outage represents nearly 42 percent of the 11,000-plus customers.

Meanwhile, some say they can't the utility company to report outages, which the utility has acknowledged is being addressed in a Facebook post with no shortage of comments from frustrated customers.

9 p.m. - Eversource reporting there're 5000 Guilford customers without power.

More than 45 percent of all customers are in the dark tonight.
