Water Main Flushing to Start in Guilford October 14

According to CT Water's website, they will begin water main flushing in Guilford on October 14 through November 8. The flushing will take place 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

The company periodically flushes its systems to ensure that the fire hydrants are in good working order. It also helps to maintain the quality of their water. 

CT Water says that occasionally, the water main flushing can result in discolored water, but the conditions are not harmful and don't last very long.

Customers are encouraged to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other wa/ter using devices during flushing operations. Briefly running the cold water tap may help to clear discolored water. If discolored water or low pressure persists after several hours please call Connecticut Water Customer Service at 1-800-286-5700.
