2 Charged In Fatal Shooting In Hamden: Police
Two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Hamden, according to police.
HAMDEN, CT — Two men have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Hamden resident more than two years ago, according to police.
Police said John Williams, 37, was shot and killed in a driveway in the 100 block of North Street shortly after midnight on Dec. 18, 2022.
Members of the Hamden Police Department Patrol Division responded and immediately began an investigation. The investigation was assumed by the Hamden Police Department’s Major Crimes Division, with Det. Gabriel Garcia being assigned as the lead investigator, according to Lt. Raymond Quinn.

Quinn said that since the day of the shooting, members of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division, HPD Intelligence Unit and the HPD Crime Scene Unit working with assistance from The New Haven Police Department Intelligence Unit, Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force, The New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office, The ATF New Haven Office, and other Law Enforcement partners, have worked continually on this investigation.
Two arrest warrants were recently issued as a result of the investigation, according to Quinn.

Eric Diaz, 48, of New Haven, was arrested Tuesday on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was held in lieu of a $1 million bond.
Aaron Moore, 36, of Hamden, was arrested Tuesday on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, carrying pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition. He was held in lieu of a $1 million bond.
“I wish to give my deepest sympathies, condolences and prayers to the family and friends of John Williams,” Hamden Police Chief E. P. Reynolds said in a statement. “I hope that these arrests can offer some degree of relief and closure for them during this tragedy. I also wish to commend the hard work of my investigative team at the Hamden Police Department and of our other law enforcement partners who assisted with this investigation. They have my appreciation for a job well done.”
